What is AthensOhio.org?

AthensOhio.org, this site, contains information about AthensOhio.tel, an online directory for the Athens, Ohio area.  This page explains what is unique about the directory and how to get listed.

What is AthensOhio.tel?

AthensOhio.tel is an online directory for the Athens, Ohio area.  This directory has both white pages (i.e., an alphabetic listing) and yellow pages (i.e., a business directory).  What makes this directory unique is that it is built using the new .tel service.

The .tel service allows for the management and updating of contact information and keywords in real time.  This is all done directly in the DNS without the need to build, host, or manage a website.  An extra bonus is that .tel provides a fast way for individuals to connect with you in a single click from any mobile device.

The following types of information can be included:

There are two options for getting listed:

  1. We enter your contact information directly as part of our athensohio.tel service.
  2. You purchase and manage your own .tel service and we provide links to your information.

Option 1 to be listed

"We enter your contact information directly as part of our athensohio.tel service."

  1. You send us an email with the following:
  2. We will create a page for your business under our alphabetic listing and enter the contact information.
  3. We will provide links from the appropriate category page(s) back to your main listing.
  4. You can provide updates whenever you need.
  5. We will try to make all updates within one business day whenever possible.

Option 2 to be listed

"You purchase and manage your own .tel service and we provide links to your information."

  1. You purchase your own .tel service.  We recommend the following domain registrars:

  3. You send us an email with the following:

  5. We will provide links from the appropriate category page(s) back to your main listing.
  6. You can provide updates whenever you need.

In general, the entries on our business directory pages are placed in alphabetic order.  The exception is that we allow for three paid entries at the top of each page.  The current rates are shown below:

  1. $100/year
  2. $50/year
  3. $20/year
